Orange Cake

by Sandy Smith of Millville, CA

This is Sandy's grandmother's orange cake recipe that she has shared with us. We hope that you enjoy it.

Squeeze juice of large size orange and add 1/4-cup honey or maple syrup or 1/8 tsp. stevia powder extract.
Pour over top of cake immediately after it is removed from the oven

Cake:
1/2-cup butter
1/2-cup honey
1tsp. salt
1tsp.soda
2 eggs, well beaten
2/3 cup sour milk or water
2 cups flour of your choice
1-cup ground raisins
remaining orange peel - ground

Cream butter and sweetener, add eggs and liquid. Then add soda and salt, then flour, raisins, and orange. Pour into well-greased and floured 8x12 inch pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes.

As a variation, we have added nuts to this cake.
